PopVault
What you own, what it cost, what it is worth now, and the arithmetic that turns those three into a portfolio. It opens in the browser with the catalogue already inside it — nothing to install, and no server between you and your own numbers.
A Pop is not one price.
A figure is worth different amounts depending on the state it is in, and every guide publishes all of them. A vault that stores a single number per figure has to choose one on your behalf — and then gets your collection wrong for as long as you keep it that way.
PopVault appraises each stack against the state you actually keep it in. Where the guide has no price for that state, it borrows from another state of the same figure, marks the row as substituted and tells you which tier it used. It never averages two states into a single number, and it never reaches for a different Pop’s price to fill a hole.
What is in the vault.
A catalogue of 20,497 figures
Every Funko line — 110 of them, from Pop! Heroes to Pop! WWE Covers — each item with its box number, its variant tags and its artwork. It ships inside the app as a 1.07 MB compressed snapshot and is imported on first run, so search is instantaneous and works with no connection at all.
Three prices per figure
Out of box, in box and sealed — held as three separate series, never merged. Each stack is appraised against the state you record, and the vault flags every row where it had to substitute.
Cost basis that survives real buying
Quantity-weighted blending across multiple purchases of the same figure, so a stack bought at two prices carries the cost it actually has rather than the price of the last one you entered.
Profit, both kinds
Unrealised profit and loss against current value, return on cost, and realised profit and loss from sales — including the fees you paid to make them.
Allocation and concentration
Breakdowns by line, by state, by variant tag and by value band, plus a Herfindahl concentration index and the same index restated as the number of equally-sized holdings it is equivalent to.
Risk and a forecast
Portfolio CAGR, maximum drawdown and annualised volatility, and a drift-and-volatility projection of where the collection goes next — published with an uncertainty band rather than as a single confident line.
Coverage on every headline
Each total carries the proportion of the collection it was computed over — “over 62% of the value” — so you can always see how much of your vault a figure actually describes.
Open it anywhere, install nothing
PopVault is a browser application. The catalogue, your vault and the whole analytics engine load into the tab; a sign-in is there only if you want the same vault on another machine.
Why the state matters more than the Pop.
The same figure can differ by a multiple between loose and sealed. These are the three tiers PopVault holds separately.
| State | What it means | How it is valued |
|---|---|---|
| Out of box | Loose figure, no packaging | Against the guide’s loose price for that figure |
| In box | Original box, never opened for display | Against the guide’s boxed price for that figure |
| New | Sealed in an unopened box | Against the guide’s sealed price for that figure |
| Substituted | The guide has no price for the state you chose | Borrowed from another state of the same figure, flagged, and the tier named on the row |
It tells you what it does not know
This is the part most trackers get wrong, and it is the part PopVault is built around. An unpriced figure is unpriced, not worth nothing: it is excluded from the total and counted separately, never added as a zero. Profit needs both a cost and a value, so over stacks where only one is known, no profit is claimed at all.
Blending a recorded purchase price with an unrecorded one makes a stack’s cost unknown, rather than quietly treating the unrecorded one as free. A compound growth rate is refused below a month of history instead of being extrapolated from a few days. And every headline carries its coverage rather than presenting a part of the collection as the whole of it.
